This collection is incredibly special to me - some of these pieces are returning works from my former business, Kapwa Kreations, and I've included new pieces that reflect this chapter in my artistic journey. There are 16 art prints in this collection, and each of them shares a piece of my experience stepping into this new experience.
Anthurium - Returning Piece
One of the first plants I ever got for myself was an anthurium, so this plant holds a special place in my heart. Anthuriums are symbols of hospitality and abundance; this piece is a reminder to embrace warmth, welcome growth, and remain open to all that life offers. I've always been a fan of minimalist art and I'm a huge plant enthusiast, so whenever I create pieces around plants, I try to keep it simple so folks can enjoy the beauty of nature.
Ate's Bouquet - Returning Piece
"Ate" (ah-teh) means "older sister" or an older woman you love and respect. As an Ate myself, I've realized that the smallest things bring me the most joy. Monsteras and Birds of Paradise plants always bring me a sense of peace and happiness. If I were to be gifted this bouquet of plants, my heart would be full! Monsteras are my favorite plant, with Birds of Paradise being a close second.
Champorado - Returning Piece
Champorado is a comforting, nostalgic dish that reminds me of childhood mornings and cozy rainy days. The warm, chocolatey rice porridge is a symbol of home, tradition, and the simple joys that bring us solace. This piece is my love letter to the comfort that Filipino food has brought to me growing up, and how it continues to soothe me as an adult.
Cozy Morning
This piece is inspired by mornings with my Grandpa before going to church. Pan de sal is our traditional Filipino dinner roll and is paired perfectly with a hot cup of coffee. The checkered pattern adds a touch of nostalgia, reminiscent of homey cafés and quiet moments of peace.
Divine Feminine - Returning Piece
This piece was my bestseller for Kapwa Kreations. I created this piece when I was diagnosed with PCOS and my body weight would fluctuate, and for awhile I felt like my self worth would be defined by my weight. This piece was a reminder that while it's hard to love yourself in a world that's so superficial, self-love is necessary. This piece embodies the essence of divine femininity; strength, softness, and the power of creation. I wanted to illustrate the beauty of embracing oneself fully, in all forms. It’s an invitation to celebrate the sacred energy that resides in all of us.
Doja Says
This playful piece is inspired by my American Bully, Doja, who has a big personality despite her small size. She always seems to have something to say, whether it’s through her expressive face or her entertaining mannerisms. This illustration captures her sassy yet lovable spirit.
G.I.A.W - Returning Piece
This piece represents the bond between women, their shared experiences, and their divine energy connected to the way of the universe. "God is a Woman" reflects the power that feminine energy holds, and that there would be nothing without women.
Home - Returning Piece
Home is more than just a place—it’s a feeling, a sense of belonging. This piece captures the vibrancy of a tropical landscape, reflecting the warmth and energy of the Philippines. It’s a visual love letter to the places that make us feel safe and rooted.
ILY SF
This piece is dedicated to San Francisco, a city that has played a special role in my journey. From its iconic landmarks to its eclectic culture, SF holds memories of inspiration and change. The winding road represents adventure, exploration, and the paths we take to find ourselves.
Kapatid
“Kapatid” means sibling in Tagalog, and this piece represents the unbreakable bond between family members. The ocean animals symbolize unity and the way we navigate life together, even in the vastness of the world. It’s a reminder of the love and connection that keeps us anchored.
Neighborly
Inspired by lush gardens and the way nature intertwines, "Neighborly" celebrates the beauty of coexistence. The intertwining plants and creatures symbolize community and how we are all connected. It’s an ode to harmonious relationships and the ways we support one another.
Protector - Returning Piece
This piece was inspired by a dream I had. I was sitting on the beach surrounded by golden snakes and monsteras, but I felt safe and energized. This snake (who I named "Ivy") represents resilience, strength, and the unseen forces that watch over us. Ivy intertwined with florals signifies the delicate balance between life and protection, embodying the spirit of guardianship. It’s a reminder that we are never truly alone.
Sampaguita
The Sampaguita flower is the national flower of the Philippines and represents purity, simplicity, and resilience. I wanted to portray it alongside a woman in deep contemplation, embracing her roots. This piece is a reflection of identity, heritage, and quiet strength.
Self Love
"Self Love" is a celebration of growth, healing, and embracing oneself fully. The warm florals and glowing figure represent the journey of self-acceptance and finding joy within. It’s a reminder to nurture ourselves with the same kindness we give to others.
The Journey
Life is a series of twists and turns, much like the winding path depicted in this piece. The vibrant colors and surreal elements represent transformation, change, and the unknown adventures ahead. It’s an encouragement to trust the process and embrace the beauty of the journey.
Year of the Snake
Inspired by the Lunar New Year, this piece celebrates the wisdom, transformation, and intuition associated with the Year of the Snake. The intricate patterns on the snake symbolize growth and renewal. It’s a tribute to embracing change and shedding old layers to step into new beginnings.
